A blog of my Journey: to get closer to my Lord, Jesus Christ; as a homeschooling mother; as a mother of two princesses; as a wife; as a friend; as a daughter; as a sister; a believer and the many other roles that we play in this life. My hope is that this little blog may encourage, edify, touch, comfort, help, teach or mentor, just one other woman out there on their Journey, as I share what the Lord teaches me on mine.

Our First Trip to the Symphony!
We took our first field trip to the Dallas Symphony today. I was so excited, I hadn't heard a live orchestra since I played in one myself so many years ago. The girls were a little leary, they had asked me if it was going to be as boring as listening to the high school band play at school last year LOL! To say the least, they were awestruck the moment we walked in to the building. The Meyerson is so incredibly beautiful. The foyer is so full of light! It was amazing! I was tempted to put on my sunglasses. The inside of the actualy symphony hall was also breathtaking, the detail in the word work, the immense height of the cielings and the fact that the organ was about 50 feet up the wall under the biggest organ pipes I have ever seen was...well...no words can explain what I felt. I didn't realize how very much I missed listening to this type of music. It is part of me, even though I haven't played the cello since I was in 12 grade, which was about 10 years ago...HaHa...just kidding. I caught myself getting teary eyed just listening to them play. God is so amazing! He created people like Bach, and Greig and so many others to create so many beautiful pieces of music, all so different, yet they all use just about all the same instruments and all the same notes that have been around for ages. It just blows my mind! :) It will definitely be a day to remember in the Burks' family. All four of us got to go so it made it extra special. Enjoy the pictures.

The M&M's and their new Bunnies!
One of the girls friends flop eared bunnies had babies a few weeks ago and the girls are both buying one from her. These are pics from their last visit to play with them and hold them. They are sooo incredibly sweet and cute. God is so amazing in His creation! It's been wonderful for the girls to be able to watch them as they grow even before they get to come home to us.

February 2010 Snow
Mikayla & Megan on my car. They were thinking about sliding down it.
NOT a good idea. I know...I take the fun out of all of it. :)
Girls with Buddy
My beautiful Bonnie.
She looks like a polar bear.
This is actually a snowman made from the hay field across the street. I think it ended up with more hay in it that snow.
Meg catching snowflakes on her tongue.
Girls in snow. Kayla was soooo enjoying me taking her picture AGAIN!
